About Cisco’s Kids
Like 1968, the message of peace, unity and brotherhood is again relevant and what better way to deliver the word than through the funky-jazzy-Latin-reggae-street-infused music of WAR, now known as The Low Rider Band?
Each of the 9 musicians who comprise Cisco’s Kids is passionate to a fault about replicating the feel and the vibe from the band that created an unforgettable soundtrack that is as important now as ever. So fire up the low rider, slip into darkness, throw out a peace sign and get this funky music in ya!
Meet The Band
From the beginning Dave was drawn to the syncopated rhythms of Latin-jazz, funk, RnB and soul, this all came into focus when he discovered the band War. Heavily influenced by the band’s message and deft approach to blending funk, Latin-jazz, soul and driving percussion Dave had found his musical muse.
Though formally trained as a drummer, Dave was never far from his love of world percussion. He was inspired by the likes of Rebop Kwaku Baah to specialize and focus on becoming a master percussionist and perform the music of his favorite band; War. Honing his craft by playing with standout musicians from the East Coast to the West, Dave continued to build towards the project of his dreams; Cisco’s Kids.
